Petra is a UK-trained counsellor in Psychosynthesis therapy with a focus on trauma and addiction. She holds the English-speaking groups and provides individual therapy in English and German at Marbella Recovery.
Petra has a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling, accredited by the University of East London and trained at the Psychosynthesis & Education Trust in London. She holds a qualification in Alternative Medicine and Psychotherapy from the German Health Authorities and completed trainings in Group Facilitation, Non-violent Communication, Conflict Resolution, Emotional Presence, Family Constellations and Safe Trauma Therapy.
Petra’s approach is based on Psychosynthesis therapy, a humanistic and transpersonal modality of depth psychology. Having a spiritual dimension, it complements the principles of the 12-Step programme, which Petra has been involved in for 12 years. She has worked in drug and alcohol services in the UK. Her focus is on trauma therapy, recovery from abuse, and addiction. She works with substance addictions, eating disorders, co-dependency, addictions to relationships, sex, Internet and technology, gambling, overspending and debting.
Petra is both compassionate and passionate about her work as a therapist. She is inspired by the transformation she sees in her clients. She enjoys connecting with people on an authentic level and encourages them to live their full potential.
She works in English, German, and Spanish and has basic knowledge of French and Italian.
